Dancer Tribal Black Wolf Headress by AdarkerNEMISIS Dancer Tribal Black Wolf Headress by AdarkerNEMISIS
Still a Under Going Project: (still not good enough needs alot of work!)

I have been thinking this up for quite a few years now when I was a kid the first wolf pelt I ever seen was owned by my aunt who had a grey and black Taxidermy wolf headdress. I had the idea. The whole idea going to Taxidermy School was to learn how to make these..............load and behold I became a "Plushidermist" and not the "Rogue Taxidermist" as I dreamed when I started this.

The idea was definitely in mind when I was into the R.U.N. years back and dreamed to actually go through with it but it just never happened......... So this is actually considered a R.U.N. Headress.....Although I never actually gone through with the idea it came up not too long ago when I was Chatting with a friend and realized I had all I needed to do was get my ass up and actually do it! After all everything I needed at the time was already in The house, I already had the form, the wolf (wolves) and neither where selling so I picked a wolf and started the work.

I did not like the form I had, the nose to me was way too bulky and square so I shaved and sanded half of it down to define different features in the face and finished them off with thin clay. Not that it’s a natural look but this thing wasn’t intended to be 100% natural looking.

I was originally going to put this with the March Sale but I don’t think I’m going have it. Besides it won’t be done by then. I am really hoping I can bring this up to my tribe to see if any of them would be interested in this as a Native American Headdress for dancing. I think she would be best suited for that instead. Although we are the rabbit tribe I think Coyote is best suited for my people hahahaha a lot of them are Big Wolf totem scratchers. Naturally I’m a coyote……….and I’m pretty sure you can see why.

I will look forward to working on more of these! I hope everybody can Enjoy!! :hooray:

PLEASE NOTE: I didn’t go to school for Photography, I went to school for Taxidermy! My pictures are not the best!

This is a website for ART not for DEATH and DISGUST
What's the matter bro? Couldn't develop the real skills required to make a fursuit?? LOL! HOW SAD!!! So you think that by wearing another living beings SKIN it will somehow impart thee with special skills? uhhmm... It puts the lotion on the skin? YOU 'PEOPLE' (and I use the term very lightly!) are SICKOS!! I suppose you think it's 'sooo not ok' for Asians to kill endangered Tigers for their PENISES, but this is somehow, 'ok'? Hypocrites much??
Hey, you know what?? I've got some righteously beautiful skin and hair, why don't you come and try to take it?? ;}

It's up for offers. Sold it to someone who paid full price and they walked away from it two years ago. Since they haven't contacted me since and haven't gotten back to me.

The original price was 1,400 however it's up for offers as long as its reasonable. I would be willing to do payments for the higher priced items.

No, I don't. Though it needs new feathers since they got damaged in the move and I believe I redid the beads to actual metal and glass wolith horse hair tassels. its completed and ready to ship aside from needing New feathers.

I would have to pull it out and get new photos.

really, hahaha I'm the coyote. the trickster. sometimes I wish I could make them cheaper for people. things have gotten so expensive these days. and what I sold this one for is cheaper than what I have to sell them for now due to market shifts in supplies.

The worst part about TRYING to find a pelt, is people don't understand that the animal was most likely killed humanely...I don't condone the hunting of wolves unless every part is used (well almost everything). And the second part is being on a fixed income where, if I saw a pelt that was say even a $100, I'd be screwed x.x -le sigh- someday I guess xD

This is great, Forget the people bullying you. I believe that animals who have died deserve to live on in another form, and this is a beautiful form. Creating something beautiful out of something sad.

What makes you think you have the right to kill such a beautiful animal and then call it your own? you people are sick. how dare you even call yourself an artist. how can you even hold your head up proud for doing something so cruel. its rude and disgrace to the creature, just taking its skin that it used to live in and wear as a meer piece of clothing. you should be ashamed of what you do. you earn no respect from me or anyone else that cares to have a say to speak up for the dead creatures.

you make me laugh.

'what makes you think you have the right',

How dare you even come here you rude and Disgraceful person.

what kind of person is sick enough to hold your head up and spit to someone's life? does that make you proud to do something so cruel!

does it make you feel important to walk over somebodies way of living, you sick disgusting soul, taking peoples hard work, their dreams and their overall life's accomplishments and throwing it in the trash because you don't approve.

You should be ashamed of your self for even living, you are a scum to destroy someone's feelings and recreation because you think you have the almighty power and respect to think that anyone else should care that you have a say.

hope someone walks in your life and tells you how much of a low life, sick human you are.

Because honestly, You have no respect from me, or anyone else that cares to have a say to speak up for people who are bullied, shunned on spit on because you think its cute and fun. Heads up, Taxidermy is legal bullying isn't.

Have a Nice Day!

you are not, but the moment you open your mouth you are a discussing person. That is the point of the whole thing to read your words.

"God forbid you ever have to walk a mile in my shoes. then you really might know what's its like to say you knew." maybe you need to listen to that.

You wouldn't think one second of your life to have such disrespect for a life I created for myself.

there will never be an art for what you do and for that, no one will ever respect you.

i can honestly say i've tried, i have really tried, at looking at taxidermy from the point of view of you guys and i just cant really see it. i cant see how someone could make a living out of it. forming something out of a former-living creature sends chills down my spine. i see movement in art and then i look at the irony of taxidermy in how it used to move and live, and now its gone.

So, its ok to spit on people because what they do sends chills down your spine? I say your not looking hard enough because you have no intention to look. and you never put your hands in the middle of it to truly understand. its not about looking at it, its about recreating it.

I'm not a Great person, but I'm not a bad one either. so don't act like it.

who the fuck are you to tell us we are sick for honoring a sacred animal .. our ppl have been making headdresses out of animal skins for 10's of thousands of years . with honor and sacred hand a shaman would carfully recreate the pelt into a recreation of the original animal to honor that animal for giving his/her life so we may access there strength, wisdom and spirit. I AM BLACK WOLF and I would be honored if a brother gave his life so I may use them in ceremony.

Laws to prevent what? The obtaining/buying a legal wolf pelt and transform it into something beautiful? No, on the contrary, there are legal hunting seasons and population control are legal. Also Native Americans still use headdresses for their rituals/dances, is part of their belief/culture and this is considered as leatherwork. There's nothing illegal here and the wolf was not killed with the purpose of being turned into a headdress, the artist bought the pelt only.

Regarding the sick people that don't have any respect for nature yes, poaching is penalized by the law and this is not the case of one.

that is so hypocritical "killing animals because of over population" when no species is as overpoulated as humans.

galitb Featured By Owner Apr 13, 2013
First of, get your facts straight, humans are not overpopulated. Overpopulation means that there are more beings than resources the habitat has and by that believe it or not, with all the damage we have already done to nature, there are still enough resources and enormous areas of the world which are almost totally empty or not even touched by man. If you want to talk about "human overpopulation" you will find it in a few countries or in the urban areas or cities where the violence, unhealthiness, starvation and other consequences of overpopulation are obvious.

The same thing happens in nature so if the wolf didn't die painless in less than a second because of a bullet into its head, then it would has died slowly by starvation anyway.

Second, you don't have anything better to do than to reply a comment already two months old?

Third, stop using that anger emoticon, you are not going to change anything with that nor makes you a badass.

1. look around... humans are pretty overpopulated. compare the ratio of seeing another human compared to seeing say a bear... quite a difference. Also people freak out if another human got shot "omg we gotta find who did this and punish them" and then people just put bullets in animals heads left and right, but "oh no thats totally ok". thats just total bullshit.

2. i dont give a shit how old the comment is. last time i checked youre able to reply to other comments.

3. i never said it made a badass nor would it change anything. theyre to show feeling, derr

No we are not, you don't get what it is "overpopulation"? Is not only about how many we are in number but if there's enough resources around and as humans there's enough. Compared to a bear if there's not enough salmon or deer or whatever they need to eat then they are screwed. And yes human will freak out because we have a different freaking brain than animals, unlike us, if an animal is killed the others of the pack will leave it to die, stare for a few seconds and forget about all about it, or there will be always that happy animal to eat the rest of it and they don't care if it's a baby or a mother or whatever. THAT IS NATURE.

2. I don't give a shit either of how the comments work, the only thing you have been doing on DA is to search for any fur related topic and just spread your ignorance

3. If you know how to write well you don't need to use them, besides I should I care what you feel about it?

I personally couldn't do it, or wear it. But it sounds to me like you didn't kill this animal, which is what all these people are grumping about. Our lifestyles on this planet have made it harsh for animals. We take and take and never give back. We rarely honor the spirit of anything. Humans are like a virus destroying all that is in their path. I love lynxes, for example, and yet so many of them die because we've laid out concrete and roads in their habitats. We've taken over and destroyed their world and we do this with little care for what we are doing.

People even send pets to tons of kill shelters, and then those animals are simply dumped in mass graves after euthanization. I think it's ridiculous for us to complain and yet how many would take unwanted cats and dogs and just dump them in a shelter?

I'm squeamish, so I know I couldn't do it, and museums with animals dead and stuffed make me often nauseous. So do zoos, where you see the animal eyes and their sadness often is overwhelming. I think this will be beautiful when it is done, and can be used to honor the spirit of the animal who once lived in this skin.
