Smoky Gold fox by AdarkerNEMISIS Smoky Gold fox by AdarkerNEMISIS

Standard Red fox/ smoky Gold/Smoke Red: What ever other names there are out there for a Ranch red LOL. Smoky Gold fox only refers to the fact it has dark coloration and heavy dark tones in the throat, tail and belly. I don't think I ever actually seen a Ranched red fox with a pure white throat and belly.....

I kind of have a weak spot for ranch reds, Crosses and Silvers (silvers in General ranched or wild) can throw all the fancy shit out there. Yet sometimes a nice standard color just pops out among all the platinums, white marks, fire factor.

This one has a MONSTER tail, I love it. it kind of has a cowlick on the side I'm sure I can beat out. it was leaning against another fox when I had them hanging upside down over night.

Absolutely stunning animal.  I don't care if it's "just a red" because damn, it is gorgeous!!

Despite being "just" a red, this is one of the more striking pelts you've posted recently. 0_0 After I got myself my "holy grail" white mark for Christmas I find the natural colored reds, silvers and crosses are more and more attractive while the more 'novelty' colors are suddenly less interesting. I think I'm almost more drawn to this guy than to the eclipse marble-fox you posted a few days ago. Almost. ;)

I do find my self attracted to simple colors, there is something about the ranch red I am drawn to, that DARK brick Red color, with dark features in the legs and ears, the frosting on the rump. I dreamed of owning one for so long! its sometimes just very weird to request simple colors from people who breed the most extraordinary! One of the breeders I buy from has by far the BEST basic colors. while he has unique colored foxes he breeds for the fur market so his reds silvers and Crosses are to die for. So dense so Crisp in color and Just clean even fur!

These are the foxes I had gotten from him in the past!

My Eclipse marble is my baby LOL amazing fox. I have a lot of Amazing new colors this year. some I'm iffy on showing people. don't really want to start a frenzy over a color like calicos or some shit.

Those are fabulous. I get what you're saying about color-frenzies, but I hope even if you don't want to show the pelts you'll still share the finished product. We all know you've got amazing foxes and amazing skill, so it's the perfect storm for you to be a very popular artist, but with great popularity comes great drama. :/

Killer red, real similar to some of this years wild ones but definitely "cleaner" markings.  Do you see the similarities?

Ill have to get pictures of the three types I have, Kodiak, Alaskan and Ranched side by side ;)
mnshortdraw Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2014
Please do!  While I'll never pull a Kodiak red with a tail like that I'm seeing a lot of the same traits and colorations.  How's the size difference compared to the large specimen I sent you?  Maybe you better just take that picture and let it do the talking.

That is the most beautiful red. I have a real soft spot for red foxes.
