I have 5 wolves, one is not actually on the wall RIGHT NOW but that's because i'm in a lengthy process of cleaning. I have one yote. I have one coon, (Two if you count the coon on top of my bookcase but he's not technically on the wall.. I have two foxes.....
oh, can you not have them up? its funny when i move out i actually will not but putting pelts up, some mounts yes but i think i might keep one or two up in my room and thats it. i dont want a taxidermy filled home, i just want a beatuful well mangaged home
I actually don't even own any, at the moment (my interest in fur is a very recent thing). I probably could... I just wouldn't want to deal with my parents' reactions to it. They wouldn't stop me outright, per se, but... *shrugs* yeah...
I'd like to at least get a fox pelt someday, though.
tell me about it, i havent even counted whats in my adic/storage room. just in my closet i have 5 hanging on hangers, two on my wall, about 10+ in a box in storage waiting to be made into something. and not counting the 20 or so left in my freezer i have alot of work ahead of me..........oh yeah and the 2 mounts and 3 soft mounts too on my self.
But they're much cooler to pet when they're living, because they reaalllly fill the skin.
I bought a wolf skin before I actually got to pet a real wolf; you might want to visit one of the wolf habitats and get a feel for wolf fur if you want a pelt, just because of how rough it normally is.
I've petted a hybrid wolf that was in a rescue centre, he was HUGE, and really friendly. His female companion was more wary tho, and there was a 3rd in another cage that was too aggressive. Same centre also had a Bengal tigress - Someone had thought it would be funny keeping her in a tiny cage in their backyard -_-
I'm pretty sure petting a hybrid is not the same as petting the a full wolf, but it's close.. TBH I wouldn't take a chance with petting a full blooded wolf, even if it's tame.
Would LOVE to see one tho, in Ireland they're only in Dublin Zoo, so I'm really hoping to get there (I live in the north so it's half a day away).
I do have a scrap piece of wolf fur that was gifted to me tho... It's defiantly wolf, I've got coyote, brush wolf, and this scrap piece of fur is huge compared to either D:
Say whhaaaaaaaat? The people at the Wolf Reserve we went to said we shouldn't pet hybrids (wolf-dogs), because their reactions to things aren't the same as regular wolves, and are rather unpredictable. I'm surprised you got to pet one!
Regular full-blooded wolves though, when not protecting their pups or anything, are pretty calm. You let them sniff you, and then they're fine, as long as you don't have food or perfume on or anything. This one wolf licked my face, and I was like 8D. This pretty wolf here: [link]
Don't miss out on petting a full-wolf though. They're pretty awesome.
He seemed friendly enough, was licking my hand excitedly and bouncing up and down the fence. His female friend came over to us but she wasn't as exciteable, she quickly backed off and kept her distance D:
I'd still be wary, in real life I've got severe anxiety issues and I'm pretty sure wolves, even tame ones, would take an advantage on that
yeah i have about 4 foxes on my shelves, and i think five right now in my closet hanging on hangers. other than that i just have two hanging on my accent walls. and are abit out of the way.........well from veiw but i think i have to yank what ever foxes tail is close to me when i wake up LOL.
i grabbed my red platinums tail more then my tuxedo, only because their is a large white buck mount on that side of the bed and im afraid im going to wake up by stabbing my eye or something HAHAHAHA!
ahahah, when I was younger thats exactly what I wanted. velcro sheep skin on my wall so i could roll around on my floor and walls but wash them an air them out when needed...to think just how well that wouldn't work out is lulzy.
lol that was alot work at my parents home to where it really did feel like platelettes. though thankfully these are abit more scattered out, some of these will be going back in the freezer anyways, when i have my room mate buy my freezer. ( lol person moving in with me who wont really pay the things to owning a apt. but in token instead ill have her buy me things 8D i think fair trade). If I ever could I would loveee to live in a rustic home, and have taxidermy everywhere but not just placed here an there to add to each room type thing. zomggg you should! 8D
Lol maybe just have a small room for that to bounce around in.
hehe that will be the second home, the home I first take people to where they arn't overwelmed and to see if i can trust them around my deadstuff. or the alternative is what my friend hopes for of a bar/taxidermy joint where i keep all my moutns there and work on them and allow people to see a few while I keep it all in its own iron lock proof.
I know I have around fourteen on my wall, give or take a few pelts, and about ten on my bed. >.> I used to have them all on my bed... but I ended up getting way too hot. I was going to drown in pelts if I didn't put a few somewhere else xD So now I've got a half-wall dedicated to pelts.
omg i can not have pelts on my bed! i wake up and they all end up on the floor. i dont know how the hell Dynasty even stays on my bed!
i was drowning in pelts, thats why i had to move them all to the addic! i even got rid of my couch just to make sure i wouldnt throw them behind it or lay them on top! im starting to get way over welmed with dead things! now i only have a few in my room, most of them are mounts, just three soft mounts and three hard mounts.

Believe it or not, ever since our current landlord bought our building, none!! I took them down and replaced them with paintings and drawings I've done that have won me awards. It's not at all because he wanted us to, I really just didn't want them on the walls anymore, lol. I DO have a custom red fox dreamcatcher on our front door though <3
you know i feel the same way. i want my own home but i will probably never put pelts on my walls unless it was in my room. i might put a mount or something in the formal ect. but i dont want a house full of dead things. i would love a regular home i can enjoy away from work.
11 pelts at the moment (a few foxes, ringtails, a mink and my prized african civet) lol I had more but I've sold some and took a few down that I was still able to rehydrate in some fashion and threw them in the freezer.
wow, i used to have the white marbled fox on my wall, then i sold it LOL. now the spots have been replaced with something much nicer than pelts. im trying to make my room enjoyable to be in. but the two foxes stay the same, they sit at the head of my bed where the wall acents into a window space, so 50% of the time people dont even see pelts there. i dont know how many times i wake up in the morning and yank the tails LOL
